Supporting Community Groups
The Town Council is committed to supporting community groups that make a positive difference to Chudleigh. On an annual basis, the Town Hall & Finance Committee administer small grants to local community and voluntary organisations who operate for the benefit of local residents who live within the Parish and can demonstrate a clear need for financial support. Applications for grant assistance are considered annually and must be submitted to the Town Clerk at the Town Hall with all supporting documentation by the deadlines detailed in the [Policy & Guidance].
Who can apply?
The organisation must provide a service to the residents within the parish, and will be required to submit a copy of its constitution and latest accounts. If the organisation does not prepare annual accounts copies of bank statements covering the previous six months will need to be provided. Groups making applications will be expected to demonstrate that other sources of funding have been sought prior to application.
The Town Council reserves the right to verify the details supplied in any application and successful applicants will be expected to have spent any grant awarded within 12 months. An income and expenditure statement and appropriate receipts will need to be submitted to the Council on completion of the project. The applicant will be required to return the whole or a proportion of the grant to the Town Council if the purpose of the grant for some reason fails.
The award of grants is entirely at the discretion of the Town Council, whose decision is final. The Council will not enter into any correspondence regarding any decision made
