Change to arrangements for accessing Town Hall staff

For the last fifteen years It has been a source of pride to us that all members of the public have been able to access the Council offices at any time due to our open-door policy. So, it is with regret that I have to advise you that we have had to introduce hatches in the wall to limit access. This is because, for the last two years, we have had a member of the community who believes that it is OK to come into the Town Hall and hurl abuse and threats at the staff. This has now reached the point where I am needing to prioritise the staff’s safety and security. Hence the hatches.

The hatches will be in operation between 9am and 3pm Monday to Friday. Simply knock on the hatch door to attract our attention.
